Reflections on Feedback
As a mentor or supervisor, being successful at giving feedback is crucial. A teacher's reception to feedback is influenced by their values and beliefs, practical knowledge and past experience (Kanakri, 2017). A mentor's delivery of feedback is also regulated by their preconceived notions, experiences, beliefs and views on feedback.
Some interesting questions to reflect on:
-
Who should be trained on feedback delivery, mentors or teachers?
-
Who should be responsible for leading feedback sessions, mentors or teachers?
